What We Expect From Our Writers
First and foremost, we expect our writers to be dedicated, mature and have a solid grasp of the English language (an understanding of correct grammar, punctuation, etc. is a must). We would like our writers to be able to commit to writing an article at least once or twice a week at minimum.
We are looking for writers that can write their own content; we are not looking for news editors at the moment, but we are looking for those who can contribute to the blog with original content in a personal way, or with instructional content. For an example of what we are looking for, here are five articles:

While we appreciate the effort and work that goes into producing articles, right now this position is not paid, though we do give writers the chance to have their writing exposed to thousands of readers every day.
Does This Sound Like You?
If you are interested in writing for us, please read all instructions before submitting your application, otherwise you will not survive the Joining Ritual. You will die. That is all. Incomplete applications will be ignored — because if you can’t follow instructions now, there’s nothing to make us think you’ll be able to follow instructions if we contact you to write for us.
First off, anyone who's interested must have:
- A passion for Video Games. You don’t have to have played through The Witcher, but you have to have played at least couple of western style RPGs (Baldur’s Gate etc.).
- Solid writing ability. Basic spelling and grammar are required — and the ability to form words without any numbers in them is a major plus. Insider tip: we’re going to assume that the writing in your application is an example of the best writing you’re capable of. Once we see a spelling mistake, grammatical error, or typo, we usually stop reading.
- Proficiency! We want people who can commit to writing on a regular basis.
- For original content authors, we’re looking for people who can commit to a minimum 2 posts per week.
- For instructional content contributers, we’re looking for people who can commit to either weekly or bi-weekly content articles. Keep in mind that writing guides and walkthroughs should focus on helping our readers in their game. Be as in-depth as possible in your guides.
But there’s a few technical requirements as well. Before you apply, be sure you:
- Possess a computer and a reliable Internet connection.
- Have the software and knowledge to create and manipulate photos and screenshots. (You’ll need to be able to resize images, but you’re welcome to do fancier stuff if you feel like it).
- Know basic HTML. (Our CMS is all WYSIWYG, but sometimes a bit of additional knowledge helps.)
- Are reachable outside of Vizima — via e-mail, IM, Skype, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Still think you're right for the job? Well then...
- Absolutely no attachments. Every time we receive a Word DOC, somewhere a darkspawn cries. Please include all information in the body of your e-mail.
- Your full name and whether you’re applying as a original content author or a instructional content author in the subject line. I.e. “John Doe — original content” or “John Doe — instructional content.”
- Your city and state. (If outside of the US, include country as well.)
- Your contact information, including email address and any instant messenger addresses. Twitter name, Facebook page (if applicable).
- Availability information — when and how often you think you’ll be able to post.
- An explanation of why you think you’re the right person for the job.
- Some information about your background in video games in general, you currently play or previously played etc.
