After official announcement there were many questions asked. Answers to the most common of them can be found right below. Text in italics is translation from Reds’ explanations posted on the polish forum.

1. Geralt’s face looks horrible! Why did you change his face?! – Geralt’s face still needs some work to be done:
@ On the movies Geralt’s not an albino, but he’s of course gonna be one. – Before presentation we had some problems with light system. We weren’t able to properly balance HDR and that’s why the brightest points on screen were much too bright. Guess which of them was the brightest…? – Yep, Geralt’s hair. So we had to make it (just for presentation!) much more darker. (Polish post)
@ There is also second post, a huge one, explaining why Geralt’s face was changed at all. As it’s already translated into English, I’ll just post an URL here (Link)
2. Why is Geralt so fat?! – Because he’s wearing game’s thickest armor
3. Why does blood look like ketchup? – Game is done in 60%, so things such as blood, eyes, hair etc. will be worked on
4. Why Geralt has to fight so many monsters at once? – Game’s difficulty system isn’t balanced yet and requires a lot of work.
@ Combat system is under development. We haven’t started to balance game yet. Enemies are often more powerful than they would be in the final version. It makes us easier to check combat system on them (Polish post)
@ Geralt’s stats are twisted on this gameplay. During presentation, Adam stood two meters from screen and he wasn’t able to see the entire screen, so combat was not presented as it should be. For example he left Triss’s shield, which should cause death, and you saw didn’t die because of the twisted stats. While in the forest, he was attacked by pack of Nekkers, while playing this part previously there were only 5 of them. We don’t know how did it happen to be so many of them. Concluding: everything, including difficulty levels is to be balanced. (Polish post)
5. Why game was played using gamepad on the official announcement if TW2’s basic platform is PC? – And who would feel comfortable having to play game while standing both with keypad and mouse in his hands?
6. Is Geralt gonna lose his memory again? – Nope, he won’t. What’s more, you are going to know why had he lost his memory in TW1
7. Dialogue choices to be made in limited amount of time suck! I wouldn’t even manage to read my options! – Take it easy, everything’s going to be set properly, and those time-choices will appear only in some places
@ As said on the conference, limited time for choosing dialogue line will appear only in some dialogues, mostly when situation needs to make decisions dynamic (Polish post)
@ Take it easy. Firstly, the same system works fine in Heavy Rain. Secondly, I’m convinced that there will be enough time for every player to read his options. (Polish post)
8.Why did you change combat system? – Because in TW1 you weren’t able to join dodges and signs into combo, and there were no tactical behaviors at all.
@ In TW1 combat sequence consists of continuous strikes. Bonus for player is that every strike is faster and more powerful than the previous one. And looking from the other side – what’s punishment for player? – Well, it’s sequence’s interruption. And look now. When you build up a sequence, every tactical behavior (dodge, sign) will interrupt sequence. And tactical thinking should be rewarded, not punished by game. You see the problem? And that’s what we focused on while making TW2’s combat system. (…) In TW2 weak player could just push all the buttons at once, but he won’t see all possibilities and depth, our new combat system gives. It will be easy to learn and hard to master. (Polish post)
9.Will The Witcher 2 use something like Ubisoft’s DRM? – It isn’t decide yet, but probably – not. CDP RED is against such violent forms of security
10.What will be game’s system requirements? – We don’t know yet. As for now, we are using computers that can be bought in casual computer store, so no need to worry – optimization is gonna be only better!
